Vintage-ish Sunday Dress

I’m not going to tell you where I got this dress because sometimes I like to be mysterious and NOT because I am embarrassed. Elusive—not embarrassed.

But I will give you a hint. My boys and I went to un-named location to put all of my seven year olds coins in one of those coin eating machines, and then it prints out a receipt of the amount collected that you can redeem for cash. With thirteen dollars later, my seven year old picked out the latest Ninjago Jet Lego set, and my five year old picked out another Ninjago set for $7—the equivalent amount of “warm fuzzies” he’s collected over the past few months.  While at Wa….er, this same un-named location, my seven year old reminded me that we need more milk, yogurt, and bananas. So we got those too. We also picked up two pairs of plaid shorts at $3.88 each for baby brother. On the way to the register, this cutie of a dress caught my eye, and it got thrown into the cart as well.

I liked the vintage look of the floral and blue print. I liked it better on than on the hanger which is always a good feeling. Some cute, rounded toe pumps with red lipstick completes the vintage look. Anytime I look like a 1950’s housewife, it’s a good day. I even cooked dinner in these heels and dress.

Just kidding. I prepared it in my PINK yoga pants and bare feet—it’s 2012 for goodness sake!

P.S. I saw a dress with a very similar print and pattern worn on my latest favorite show “Revenge”.  I thought that was cool considering mine was only $14 and they only wear an exclusive designer wardrobe.

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. "
