My Grandma’s Blouse

My Grandmother past away in her sleep early yesterday morning.

Just a short two months ago, she came home from a trip complaining about a stomach ache, but feeling fine otherwise. After some routine checks, they determined she had cancer spreading throughout her body, and was diagnosed as terminal. She was given no more then three months to live.  It was a shock to all of us.  She handled it with grace as she did with everything in life, and stayed beautiful even until the very end. I was able to visit her twice in these past two months which I will cherish. I will never forget my sweet four year old giving her his last hug good bye on her bed—his great grandmother from whom he inherited his red hair—and then after one last smile, he leaned down to give a delicate kiss on her arm.

I wore this blouse today because it was hers. She loved polka dots! I must have inherited that from her :)  She had impeccable style and class; she was one of the most gorgeous women I have ever known or ever seen.

I will miss your voice, smile, laugh and love Grandma.

Beautiful post. You know when you compare you last photo with the firdt photo of her you are smiling just like her. She was a lovely lady even to the end.

That was a lovely post. I remember the she did make the best cinnamon toast! I haven't ever seen some of those pictures of Grandma. She was my favorite grandparent and I will miss her, but I'm glad she is with grandpa now.

That's funny melody said the same thing I was going to say about the smile. You both are lovely. I think you got one of the cutest blouses she had.

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. "
