4. Somewhere I Sat

My three-year-old was having an aversion to his own room.  He’d sleep anywhere—the couch, the recliner, my bed, the floor—as long as it was not in his own bed. He’d play anywhere—his brothers’ room, my bathroom, the kitchen—as long as it was not in his room. An entire space devoted to him, and he wanted nothing to do with it! So, to show him just how pleasant, comfortable, and fun his room can be, he and I spent an entire afternoon in his room. Most of it consisted of me sitting on the rocker reading and him pulling out ev-er-y one of his books, but I think it worked. He’s slept in his bed, through the night, for the past two nights!

He also seems to have an aversion to clothes. That I don’t mind so much—it’s the Summer; I practically have the same aversion!

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. "
