The REAL, REAL O.C.

To start off our much anticipated California vacation, I flew into Orange County early with Colton and Brayden to visit one of my bestest friends Brenna and her beautiful family. She has two little girls (Madison and Macey) that are around the same ages as Colton and Rylan. Colton and Madison have met once before about two years ago, while I was pregnant with Rylan and Brenna was pregnant with Macey, so unfortunately those two have not met. But, Colton and Mady hit it off. At first Mady takes a while to warm up (playing hard to get), but Colty was patient and she came around. Brenna and I LOVE the beach so that's what we did--packed up the kiddos and spent the day at the beach. Plus all Colton really wanted to do while in California was go to the beach, he was more excited for that then Disneyland. It was so an awesome experience to watch our kiddos playing together. Ten years ago Brenna and I were spending our birthday on the beach in Oahu, Hawaii, fantasizing how our futures would play out, and now here we are...better then we could have imagined.

Colton and Madison enjoyed their sleepover in the playroom and arranged the stuffed animals (for Colton) and the dolls (for Mady) between them on the bed. Brenna and I tried to stay up as late as we could, talking about as much as we could, but our days as Mommies couldn't keep up with our once young and in college days, and by the time midnight hit we HAD to go to sleep. The next day we headed off to the beach again, and Colton loved it even more. He collected shells for us to bring home as souvenirs. I truly did not want to leave. It was so wonderful to live a day, or two, in Brenna's world and see how happy she is. I am so thankful for her friendship, and that our children are friends as well.
