Sean's poem for his hero--Patt Tillman

(photo from USAtoday.com)

Dark becomes the day
Rage builds to a swell
Stinging rain of tears
The day the hero fell

Gallant soul of heritage
Measured control was he
Traversing foreign lands united
With brothers poised to free

Shortened was his life’s time
Progress will remain his fame
Another land he now roams
On this to laud his name

Now barren of their hero
Yet pressing on by and by
Silent mantle they now carry
Drawing strength from his eternal cry!!

"[A friend] told me about this statue,
and I was thinking about it when I wrote this last night."

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. "
